MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS OF SRI S JAIPAL REDDY

Sudini Jaipal Reddy is a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India representing Indian National Congress, currently Union Cabinet Minister of Urban Development.

Conferred with in the year 1998, he is known for his quality of debates in parliament. The first Lok Sabha member from South India and youngest parliamentarian to be so honored.

  • Introduced Prasar Bharathi bill in parliament and implemented it for providing autonomy to Doordarshan and All India Radio.

  • As I & B Minister FM Radio channels were approved and introduced through out the country.

  • Introduced Live Telecast of proceedings of Lok Sabha & Rajya Sabha to enable residents of India watch the elected representative’s discussions and debates in both the houses of parliament.
  • Union cabinet minister, he was instrumental in facilitating classical language status for “Telugu”.
  • Introduced the Delhi Metro Rail. It was the first of its kind in India. Delhi Metro Master Plan has set an example for other capital cities to emulate.

  • Sanctioned the implementation of Metro Rail works for Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata,Mumbai and Chennai.

  • Under the dynamic leadership of Shri S.Jaipal Reddy, Andhra Pradesh has immensely benefited from JNNURM schemes and funding. 48 Projects at a cost of Rs. 4,842 Crores have been sanctioned for Hyderabad, Vishakapatnam, Vijayawada, out of which more than Rs.2000 crores worth of projects have been approved for the city of Hyderabad.

  • Successfully carried out infrastructure development for the prestigious Common Wealth Games held in 2010 in New Delhi.

  • Alloted 1000 buses worth Rs.284 Crores to the city of Hyderabad.

  • Sanctioned IHSDP (Integrated Housing and Slum Development Project) of which approx. 61.5 crores was alloted to develop Gadwal, Mahaboobnagar town, Narayanpet and Wanaparthy

  • Sanctioned UIDSSMT (Urban Infrastructure Development Scheme for Small & Medium Towns) of which approx. 91 crores was alloted for water works at Mahaboobnagar.
  • Introduced several reforms in oil and gas pricing policies

  • Strengthened Oil PSUs

  • Developed country wide network Petrol, LPG and CNG modern outlets

  • Brought in transparency in LPG and Petrol bunks allocation systems
